Up for sale is a 1983 Jaguar XJS Coupe with original 5.3L V12 motor and TH400 automatic transmission showing 117,113 miles on the clock. Colored in original Sebring Red paint paired with cream leather interior chrome finishing and black trim. This is a beautiful car that is waiting for someone to turn it into the Sunday cruiser it was always meant to be. I thought I could be that person but life has a funny way of interfering with your plans. Looking to pass this classic to a fellow Jag appreciator or enthusiast who has the time and desire to get her back on the road.

I have done quite a bit of work to this vehicle, fuel and vacuum lines in engine bay have been replaced with new hose. Brand new fuel injectors, a lot of wiring has been heat-proofed and repaired. Intake manifold gaskets, tappet gaskets and rubber half moons have been replaced. New O2 sensor, new fuel filter, new struts for hood, brand new spark plugs, a custom ignition harness with brand new heat-protected wire. Brand new vacuum module for transmission installed.

That being said there is still some work to get her road-worthy. I would recommend a flush of the coolant and transmission fluid, I would recommend a replacement of clutch fan and clutch (replacement parts provided), head and tail lights need some rewiring as one side is not getting power, dash is cracked (providing a new dashboard piece in sale), seats are in decent shape but some tears and signs of age, headliner showing its age with some rips. Clear coat peeling away and paint fade is visible, black coating on rear window decorative panels has peeled away, some scratches here and there. Missing stereo but I have a replacement you can have with passcode.

A couple years ago I tried putting vehicle in my name so I paid all back-fees owed to the DMV because it hadn’t been paid since 2006 but was not able to smog. I’ve been told by the DMV that as soon as it passes smog it can be registered. Was dealing with a tricky misfire back then but haven’t run it much since then since I’ve been too busy to mess with it.

Last time I had it going it would start up and run like a champ. Once those issues I mentioned prior are dealt with I have full confidence it can get back to that point and be a reliable enough Sunday driver.

But as it currently sits, she will need to be towed by whoever takes her. My loss, your gain. Shipping and transport if you’re out of state or further away will need to be arranged by whoever buys her.

Got loads of parts I will be including in this sale, boxes upon boxes of spare parts, basically half s car thrown in just for whoever promises her a good home.
