Iconic British grand tourer offering refined performance and timeless styling
We are delighted to offer this 1990 Jaguar XJS, a charming example of one of Britain's most distinguished grand touring motor cars, combining elegant styling, luxurious appointments and effortless performance with a particularly appealing story of long-term ownership.
The XJ-S was purchased in 2015 by the vendor's late husband, who clearly held the Jaguar in considerable affection. During his ownership, it benefited from a comprehensive exterior refurbishment, including a full respray together with the fitting of new sills and rear wheel arches. Following this work, it was lovingly maintained, always garaged and treated as a cherished possession rather than simply a means of transport.
Today, the Jaguar remains an attractive and well-presented example, although, as one might expect, there are a few minor areas that would benefit from attention. Some very light paint bubbling is evident beneath the nearside rear window, while the headlamp lenses would benefit from polishing to address a degree of dullness. Neither detracts significantly from the overall appeal, and a modest investment in these cosmetic details would undoubtedly enhance its presentation further.
Inside, the cabin retains the traditional charm for which Jaguar is so well regarded, with comfortable leather upholstery, rich wood veneers and an inviting atmosphere that perfectly captures the character of British luxury motoring. The automatic transmission complements the relaxed nature, delivering the smooth and effortless driving experience expected of a genuine grand tourer.
For the next custodian, this XJS presents an appealing opportunity to acquire an increasingly appreciated British classic with a genuine ownership story, the benefit of previous restoration work and scope for some straightforward cosmetic improvement.
A characterful and elegant Jaguar, ready to begin the next chapter of its life with an equally appreciative enthusiast.
