Supplied with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate
Completed on December 5, 1988, according to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate supplied with the car, this lovely Jaguar XJ-S 3.6 was delivered through Exeter Garages Ltd to a Mr I J Cannings later that month and first registered on the UK plates F700 LDV. Finished in Glacier White with magnolia leather upholstery, the Jaguar was optioned with the ZF four-speed automatic transmission. Supplied with a good history file dating back to 2002, the Jaguar was sold by dealer Malcolm Elder & Son of Bicester, Oxfordshire to a gentleman in Kandanga, Queensland in September that year who personally imported in February 2003, with the Vehicle Import Approval and other paperwork relating to registering the car in Australia all on file.
More recent invoices on file show the car remained in Queensland before relocating to NSW with the current owner a couple of years ago. Our vendor, an experienced mechanic who runs his own restoration business, has gone right through the XJ-S to bring what was already a very tidy car up to the current high standard of presentation. Mechanical work including installing changing all fluids, installing a remanufactured steering rack and overhauling the brakes, while the front seats have been re-trimmed in the correct magnolia leather and remote central locking installed.
Evidently repainted at some point, the Glacier White paint presents well with only a few minor stone chips and looks very smart with red/grey pinstriping down the sides, while all four original ‘lattice’ type alloy wheel rims are in good condition. The XJ-S’s inviting cabin, always a major feature of these cars, is clean and tidy and the freshly re-done front seats look great, the magnolia leather piped in burgundy to match the rear. The carpets, door trims and headliner are all clean and in good condition, as is the dash fascia apart from some minor lifting around the clock. A modern CD player has been installed and the Jaguar starts easily and runs smoothly. A fantastic classic Grand Tourer perfect for long distance trips, the 3.6 XJ-S has the added advantage of good fuel economy and a reputation for reliability. Currently registered on non-transferable historic plates in NSW and showing just over 120,500 miles on the clock, the Jaguar will therefore be sold unregistered and comes with a history file supplied.
