In Regency red metallic with Cream leather interior and Nutmeg carpets, this 5.3 litre example is a former concours winner. We have been advised that the previous registered owner, of eleven years, only used the car in dry weather and very little mileage has been covered in the last few years. Seven registered owners. The history file includes a replacement service book covering 1995 to 2001 and then from 2006 to 2019, receipts dating from 2008 to 2019, MoTs from 1998 to 2018, Heritage certificate, sales brochures, handbooks and wallets. The mileage is recorded at 88,711. The registration plate, H2 TLP, remains with the car.

Finished in the decidedly elegant combination of Regency Red metallic with Magnolia leather upholstery (the latter piped Red and offset via Nutmeg carpets), chassis 173795 was initially retained by its supplying dealer, Henlys of London. Whether this was for use by a director or as a demonstrator is unknown. The property of an international music producer thereafter, the 5.3 litre V12-powered Convertible belonged to its previous keeper for over a decade during which time the XJ-S was crowned ‘Best Road Going Jaguar’ at a Jaguar Drivers’ Club Concours d’Elegance meeting. Part of a private collection since 2019, the two-seater boasts an extensive service / maintenance history with a recent brake system overhaul and new Black mohair soft-top costing some £5,000. Riding on correct lattice alloys shod with fresh tyres, the XJ-S is said to be in ‘lovely order’ and to ‘drive very well’ as one might expect given its award winning past.
