Owner: Andy S.

Just another Jaguar XJ-S addict in Minnesota USA. I love early black bumper cars. So far I have three 1975 XJ-S, a 1976 XJ-S and a 1978 XJ-S. Previously I had a 1986 XJ-SC and a 1988 XJS Coupe.

Car has a buy it now price of $4,800 for 6 days, seller andreas-schmieg, 71k miles, same location.

Seller's description:

Post-launch Jaguar XJ-S from October 1st 1975 with serial number UG2W50613BW. U.S.-spec emissions engine, LHD, original dark blue color, not much rust if any, interior is moldy, ran last in 2001. This is a very good and rare project car. It does not run and has not run in 18 years.

I purchased this car in Jan 2024, it has returned to the UK and is with me in Derbyshire.

I have got it running, and it does drive but needs further work. It will get a sympathetic restroation to return it to a good driving condition, then any decisions about what needs to be donefurther will be made at that point.

I hope to take it to the XJ-S 50th anniversary celebrations and Le Mans in 2025.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
