This is a unique1989 Jaguar XJS Coupe Rouge Collection Edition produced only for the US market. Rouge means 'Red' in French. The Rouge Collection Jaguars are rare. It is a non-smoker car — the interior does not have any strange odors — no perfume or any other odors.

Carpets are in excellent condition. The interior is clean and in very nice shape. The body is nice — no dents or scratches. The car runs great. It has excellent throttle response. The engine has a very good sound to it...no strange noises or ticks. No fluid drips at all. The car was recently tuned up in preparation for the sale. The air conditioning was gone through to ensure very nice cold air.

This 1989 Jaguar XJS is one of a limited number produced with the Rouge Collection package, which specified a coupe body finished in Signal Red along with red-accented 15” basketweave wheels, gold-plated badging, burl elm wood trim, and Magnolia leather upholstery with red piping. The car is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and additional amenities include fog lights, power-adjustable front seats, automatic climate control, an AM/FM cassette stereo, and cruise control. This example was registered in Massachusetts and Florida before being acquired by the seller in 2019. This XJS now shows 54k miles and is offered at no reserve with a clean Carfax report and a clean Tennessee title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Signal Red and features quadruple headlights, front fog lights, chrome mirror caps, dual exhaust outlets, and gold-plated badging. A dent in the left fender can be viewed in the gallery below, along with other imperfections in the finish.

Red-accented 15” basketweave alloy wheels wear Jaguar center caps and are mounted with 235/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. A matching spare wheel is stored in the trunk, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes. Service in December 2018 included replacing the front shock absorbers, and the brake fluid was flushed in August 2019.

The 2+2 cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in Magnolia leather with red piping. Burl elm wood accents the dashboard, center console, and door panels, while additional appointments include power-adjustable front seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, and an AM/FM cassette stereo. Cracks are visible in the center console and dashboard.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 54k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership.

The 5.3-liter SOHC V12 was factory rated at 262 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque. The Carfax report indicates service in August 2019 included replacing the oil pressure sender switch and the air conditioning hose line seals, in addition to recharging the refrigerant. The air conditioning compressor was replaced in September 2020, and service in early 2022 is said to have included replacing the battery, ignition coil, and radiator hoses, as well as repairing an oil leak.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery.
