This 1996 Jaguar XJS 2+2 Celebration Edition convertible has been registered in California since new, and it was acquired by the owner in 2012. The car shows 62k miles and is powered by a 4.0-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. It is finished in Topaz over Oatmeal leather and is equipped with a power-retractable brown soft top, 16″ Aerosport alloy wheels, power-adjustable front sport seats, a six-disc CD changer, and cruise control. Service under current ownership has included replacing the rear exhaust manifold in January 2019, as well as the ECU, idle control valve, and steering rack bushings in May 2024. This XJS convertible is now offered on dealer consignment by a Local Partner, at no reserve with the owner’s manual, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.
The car is finished in Topaz and features a power-retractable brown soft top as well as a convertible top boot, Jaguar leaper hood ornament, black front grille, chrome mirror caps and headlight surrounds, dual exhaust outlets, and a telescoping antenna, which was replaced in February 2019. Cracks are present on the front lip spoiler, and duct tape has been applied to the left side.
The 16″ Aerosport alloy wheels are wrapped in Michelin Defender T+H tires, which were mounted in August 2025. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. The front brake pads were replaced in April 2021, and the steering rack bushings were replaced in May 2024.
The power-adjustable front sport seats and two rear bucket seats are upholstered in Oatmeal leather with Antelope contrast piping and an embossed Jaguar leaper on each each headrest. Sapwood Walnut wood veneers accent the cabin, and amenities include cruise control, a solid wood shift knob, and a cassette stereo paired with a trunk-mounted six-disc CD changer. The air conditioning does not blow cold, and wear is visible on the driver’s seat bottom.
The four-spoke leather- and wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,700-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 62k miles, approximately 21k of which were added under current ownership. A February 2019 service record notes that the temperature gauge reads high.
The 4.0-liter inline-six was factory rated at 237 horsepower and 282 lb-ft of torque. The ECU and idle control valve were replaced in May 2024. The car passed a California emissions test in January 2026.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The rear exhaust manifold was replaced in January 2019.
