We have enjoyed being the lucky caretakers of this beautiful piece of automotive history for many years and now it’s time to pass it on so someone else can enjoy it. This gorgeous well maintained XJS is in very good condition both mechanically and cosmetically the car runs and drives as it should and everything works. This 1996 Jaguar XJS Celebration Edition convertible was registered in California and Nevada before it was acquired in March 2022 by the seller, and it now shows 88k miles. The car is finished in black over Coffee leather and is powered by a 4.0-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a power-operated black soft top, diamond-turned 16″ alloy wheels, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a cassette stereo with a trunk-mounted CD changer. Work performed in April 2022 included an oil change, a brake fluid flush, and replacement of the trunk lift supports, while the fan switch was replaced and the air conditioning system was recharged in August 2022. This XJS is offered with manufacturer’s literature, two keys, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in black (PDT) with a power-adjustable black soft top and a tan top boot. Exterior features include chrome accents, a front spoiler, tinted taillights, and dual exhaust outlets. The cabin features power-adjustable front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in Coffee leather (SDC) with lighter piping as well as debossed leaper-logo headrests for the rear passengers. Wood veneer trim accents the dashboard, center console, and door panels, and amenities include automatic climate control, cruise control, brown floor mats, and a cassette stereo with a trunk-mounted CD changer. The trunk lift supports were replaced in April 2022.

The four-spoke steering wheel is accented with wood and leather trim, and it frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer along with auxiliary gauges for fuel level, voltage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 88k miles, approximately 500 of which were added by the seller.

The 4.0-liter AJ16 inline-six features electronic fuel injection and was rated at 237 horsepower and 282 lb-ft of torque. An oil change was performed in April 2022, and work performed in August 2022 included replacing the auxiliary fan and recharged the air conditioning system.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission.

Last year for the XJS and the XJ six motor. Excellent in all respects. New tires. aux. fan and alternator. It's hard to believe this all original car has 88K but it does. It just won first in class at the 2023 All British Sports Car Club show in Dixon. This car drives perfectly and everything works (except the clock which is intermittent). The car is laser straight with perfect leather. It is the last "celebration" edition so it has the wood steering wheel and seat piping. As the last XJ motor it has six coils and F.I. of course.
