This 1986 Jaguar XJS V12 coupe is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 mated to a replacement Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a Dana rear differential with 4.11:1 gearing. Additional modifications include a later-model XJS steering rack, outboard rear brakes, an R134a-based air conditioning system, and an AJ6 Engineering throttle body kit. The car is finished in gray over light gray leather upholstery and additional equipment includes 15″ alloy wheels, power windows, an aftermarket stereo, and air conditioning. The car spent time in Washington State and Arizona before the seller’s acquisition in February 2019. This XJS is now offered at no reserve with aftermarket exhaust components, spare parts, manufacturer’s literature, a Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in gray and features quad headlights, chrome trim and mirror caps, pinstripes, C-pillar buttresses, a retractable antenna, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller notes corrosion on the right side flying buttress and the driving lights are nonfunctional. There is a scratch on the right side door and quarter panel, and various chips and blemishes are present on the body. The Carfax report lists a damage entry of an accident with another vehicle in August 2002.
Factory 15″ alloy wheels wear 215/70 Goodyear Viva 3 tires that were mounted in April 2019. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs. The seller reports a steering rack and outboard rear disc brakes from a later-model XJS have been fitted. The power steering hoses and pump were replaced in December 2019.
The 2+2 cabin features gray leather seat upholstery and woodgrain trim along the dashboard and door panels. Amenities include power windows, Jaguar-branded floor mats, an aftermarket stereo, air conditioning, and an onboard computer. The seller notes the automatic climate control was converted to a manual system and the cruise control system is nonfunctional. The air conditioning system was converted to utilize R134a refrigerant and the compressor was replaced in December 2019. Wear can be seen on the driver’s seat leather.
A two-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and supplementary gauges. The mechanical odometer shows 76k miles. The seller notes the speedometer and odometer are non-functional. True mileage is unknown.
The 5.3-liter V12 was modified with an AJ6 Engineering throttle body kit in October 2019, while service in 2019 included replacing the subframe and motor mounts, fuel and coolant hoses, ignition system module, and wiring harness as well as resealing the engine. Aftermarket exhaust components and an AJ6 Engineering ECU are included in the sale. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale and the car last passed a California emissions test in January 2021.
The factory automatic transmission was replaced with a Tremec TKO five-speed manual transmission, which sends power to the rear wheels. A Dana differential with a 4.11:1 rear gear is said to have been fitted.
Spare aftermarket parts, floor mats, and manufacturer’s literature are included in the sale.
