79,289 MILES, ON EBAY 05/07, SELLER WRITES:
This 1986 Jaguar XJS V12 Coupe car has not had any major cosmetic or mechanical modification from original. It has 79K original miles and it's first owner was a dentist in Ridgefield, CT. The last owner before I purchased the car was a machinist (who was also an ex-mechanic) so he stayed on top of the mechanical maintenance. Last year the engine was re-sealed, new rear shocks installed and I had the shop upgrade the AC system from the old R12 to the new R134. Just the AC upgrade was close to $1K. The car runs excellent and everything appears to work the way it should including the power antenna. Some of the original metallic gray paint is checked and faded especially on the hood (bonnet) which was a problem with pre-1987 metalic Jaguar paints. The previous owner re-painted the worse parts which was the roof and the decklid (trunk lid) but he said he regrets not doing the whole car at the time. The interior is in good condition with no major rips or tears or cracked dash wood. There is no rust on the car but some small bubbles forming behind the passenger side bumper. The car also has the original manuals and paperwork. I have too many Jags (5) and one is coming back from the restoration shop next month so I need to make space. I rarely drive this car so it would be in better appreciated by someone who will use it. The buyer will be responsible for all shipping/transit costs. The car needs to be paid for and removed by the buyer within 7 days after the end of the auction unless specific arrangements are agreed to prior to auction end. Please ask any questions prior to bidding. Thanks for looking.
