Ebay item 1/1617
www.ebay.com/itm/1985-Jaguar-XJS-/292001256192
Opening bid US $2,995, no reserve, no bids 6 days left in auction, seller steeler80, 75k miles.

Sellers description:
1985 Jaguar XJS. Car is in very good shape for it's age. Just a little work and you could have a terrific vehicle. The original Jaguar V12 and transmission has been replaced with a Chevy 350 and turbo 350 transmission. Whoever did the swap did it right as they used a conversion kit to make it look nice and neat. The engine runs really strong and the transmission shifts out great (it has a shift kit installed). The Jaguar exhaust is still in place so you get that Jaguar sound even with the 350. I'm not sure of mileage since the swap.

Body is in good condition with just a few minor "dings" normal with a car this age. Nothing major. No rust that I can tell. It still turns heads and looks really nice, but, if I kept it, I would want to get it painted in the next few years or so. It has some fading spots near the trunk. Still looks sharp though.

Has the nice Jaguar real spoke wheels. Interior is in good shape. Someone has installed a custom dash with aftermarket gauges, but I think it meshes with the interior well. The front seats have a couple of "worn" spots, but not the tears that are common with these cars. A top seam on the back seat has come undone a bit, but this could probably be an easy fix. Just put in a new battery. The air blower isn't working, but the rest of the AC system looks brand new, so I would think a new blower motor would solve the issue. Power windows work and has a nice aftermarket radio with amp.

It will need a set of tires soon. It has Michelin's on it right now, but I'm seeing some signs of dry rot. They do hold air and drive fine, but be aware that you'll need to get tires sometime. It also has a small drain on the battery somewhere. If you leave it sitting for several days, it will drain the battery. This only takes place if it has set for several days without running. I've driven it to work, let it sit for the whole day, and started it right up without a problem.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
