Auction description:
Lot number 56
Sale Price £4,000
Make & Model Jaguar XJS 3.6 Automatic
Registration G605 DRD
Year 1989
Colour Maroon
Engine Size 3,590 cc
Chassis No. SAJJNAECA172556
Engine No. 9DPAMA193659
Documents V5C x 2; MOT July 2018; 10 old MOTs; owner's pack and service book with 17 stamps; spare service book; invoices

This 3.6 Automatic was originally supplied by Julians of Reading in April 2005 and has covered some 73,600 miles with an excellent service history comprising 16 stamps to date, the last at 73,442 miles in 2011. The vendor acquired the car in 2005 and used it only sparingly, clocking up some 4,000 miles before putting it into storage in 2011.

Started and run occasionally to keep everything free, it has also been waxoiled underneath to protect it while not in use. Recently taken out of storage it has been treated to another service which included a coolant change and diff oil change along with the normal lube service items, gaining a new MOT in July 2017.

The bodywork was apparently restored prior to our vendor's ownership and still appears to be in very good condition, looking smart in dark red metallic with chrome wheelarch extensions and contrasting cream leather interior with walnut trim. The headlining also looks to have been replaced at some point with no visible sag, thus addressing a typical weakness of this model.

The vehicle history file includes a folder of maintenance invoices, 10 old MOTs, fully stamped service book, a spare blank service book and the usual array of ownership manuals, current V5 and two old style log books.

Reported to drive beautifully by its current long-term owner, it is only being sold due to infrequent use and is being offered here at a modest guide price so someone could grab a bargain...

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
