The two-door Jaguar XJ-S V12 convertible is a true collector's item. With its twelve cylinders, the Jaguar XJ-S reigns supreme among large, elegant convertibles. Thirteen years after the end of the E-Type, a refined Jaguar convertible was once again available. Surprisingly, with a production run of 21 years, the XJ-S became one of the longest-lasting Jaguar models. When the coupé version was unveiled at the 1975 Frankfurt Motor Show, the applause was lukewarm. Compared to its dominant predecessor, the E-Type, the newcomer was considered too understated by many, and, given its XJ sedan platform, not sporty enough. Ultimately, however, it became a success.
