Car to return to auction 8/16
www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2016-08-20/cars/ref-95-1989-jaguar-lister.as ...

Auction description:
1989 Jaguar Lister XJS Convertible (V12)
Chassis Number SAJJNADW3DA146261
Engine Number 85055036HA
Odometer reading 66,000 miles
Estimate £26,000 - £34,000

Lister is one of the most renowned names in sports car racing history and the Jaguar Lister, designed by Brian Lister, swept almost all before it during its first full racing season in 1957. From the early 1980's, the name has also graced some of the world's fastest road cars and in 1986, sold to Laurence Pearce who produced variants of the Jaguar XJS. Based in Leatherhead, with engineering input by Pearce himself, approximately 90 tuned Jaguar XJSs were produced, the emphasis being very much on super car performance and totally transformed the Jaguar XJS. From the outset this was not going to be a cheap motor car, and it certainly wasn't, costing a cool £88,000 in 1988.

Offered here is one such Lister-engineered Jaguar XJS from 1989, being particularly rare due to it being a convertible. Fitted with full Lister body kit and with many Lister engineered parts and upgrades, it is resplendent in red with a cream hide interior piped red with matching red carpets. Sitting on Lister alloy wheels, this Jaguar Lister is striking from every angle. Supplied with old MoT test certificates, as well as a current MoT test valid until April 2017, a service history book with a recent full service just completed. To keep the car looking sharp, a new black hood has recently been fitted. With the private registration number GGY 3J remaining with the car, this rare supercar is a formidable package of two of the greatest names in British motorsport and justification to have it in any collection due to its rarity, quality and significance as a part of Jaguar's extraordinary history.
