Car to be at auction 9/14
www.shannons.com.au/auctions/lot/H8BAM1KDYQWAEC1B/
Auction description:
Lot 11 1983 Jaguar XJ-SC Cabriolet
GUIDING RANGE $20,000 - $25,000
- Hard to find in Australia
- Low mileage and well maintained example
- Versatile folding roof and manual transmission
A rare find in Australia, this low mileage 1983 XJ-SC 3.6 was privately imported by a UK couple when they emigrated to Perth many years ago and was purchased by the current owner from Roadbend Jaguar in 2002 with just 11,500 kms on the clock. In the current owner's hands the XJ-SC has always been maintained by Jaguar specialists, including the Independent Jag Workshop in Brisbane and Goldstar Motors of Launceston, with an extensive receipt file included with the car. The Jaguar has been used sparingly and mostly on longer trips between Queensland and Tasmania, proving a capable long distance cruiser, and is showing approximately 34,000 kms at the time of cataloguing, something reflected in the overall condition of the vehicle. With the added bonus of fresh air motoring, a manual gearbox and lively performance from the AJ6 engine, this is a rare opportunity to acquire a classic XJ-SC, particularly one in such good order. This statley Jaguar is currently registered in Tasmania, and will be offered for sale unregistered.

Tickford car. The XJ-SC's bodyshell was actually converted by the Park Sheet Metal Company in Coventry, then taken to Browns Lane for painting and, once the mechanicals and interior trim were installed, sent to Aston Martin's Tickford Body Works for the roof and hood to be fitted.
